Our founding Pastor Rev K C Andrews

A memoriam to our Founder, fondly called Unnichayan

Pastor K.C Andrews fondly known amongst all as Unnichayan was born on 4th June 1945 to Kizhakedathu Chandy and Chechamma in a traditional Jacobite family at Kerala. After his childhood he lived as a nominal christian in all walks of the life. In 1984, he repeatedly heard the voice of God and repented from the wordly ways and was inclined to learn the word of God. He started attending prayer gatherings and accepted Christ as his personal saviour in the same year. Following this, he was faced with many trials and problems in life, but held onto his faith.

He came to Bangalore in 1986 and was working in a Chemical paints manufacturing enterprise. He spent most of his available time in prayer gatherings however was not yet Baptised. During this time, he fell ill with a serious fever and Doctors were unable to diagnose the causes. The fever persisted and then he decided to take the Baptism, together with his wife Mrs Aleyamma. Thereon, he became strong in the spirit and dedicated his life to the ministry purposes.

As an evangelist he tirelessly travelled across Bangalore conducting prayer meetings, gathering amongst beleivers and people from various walks of faith. Family responsibilities were also tagging along, as his wife was working in Kerala and hence Pr Andrews also had to look after his 3 children and their schooling. Gatherings he led also firmed up into Churches at Banaswadi and Mahadevapura.

As the ministry grew, they joined the Assemblies of God ministry in Karnataka and the Church was recognised as Bethsaida Assembly of God. Following these years, Pr. Andrews lived in Mahadevapura and served the lord as Pastor of this Church, which he founded. The Church grew to include worship congregations in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu with the main Malayalam service He worked with the Church leadership towards extending the ministry to other localities of Bangalore and outside the city. His heart always had a caring approach to the needy and under-priveleged and this led him to focus the Church towards this part of the society and addressing the needs to the best of their capability

In November 2017, he had a major illness and had to undergo a major surgery. By January 2018, Pr Andrews made a miraculous recovery with the grace of God and also attended church services, until March 2018. Then on, owing to his body weakening up he was unable to be back in service. Even though bed ridden, he displayed extreme faith in the Lord and was filled with Hope, which he guarded & professed through the entire life

Rev K C Andrews passed away on May 1, 2018 to be with the Lord, with his family and many of the Church believers around him during the last moments. Through the life of this servant of God, he was a witness for the Lord and fervently worked to lead many into the way of Christ

Our dear Pastor has left a legacy of gospel ministry to Bethsaida AG Church, We look forward to being reunited with him on the other side of eternity, in the presence of his Lord and Savior who he loved so deeply in this life, and who he is now seeing face to face in full glory
